West Oaks Animal Hospital in Houston was founded more than 40 years ago, and since that time has treated multiple generations of family pets.
Now under the direction of Dr. John Kottenstette, West Oaks is pleased to offer residents in the surrounding communities the benefits of expanded hours and more services to provide family pets with a greater continuity of care throughout every life stage. Dr. Kottenstette and his team of experienced veterinary technicians and staff are dedicated to providing compassionate, quality care with an emphasis on well-rounded preventive services designed to help pets live long, healthy lives.

Dr. Kottenstette graduated from Texas A&M University in 1997. For over two decades of caring for companion animals he has served the pets in his communities through roles as a practice owner, as a consultant, as chief of staff of Banfield Pet Hospital in California, and as the medical director for VCA Animal Hospitals in Texas.
Additionally, Dr. Kottenstette recently completed his MBA. He and his wife have three children, three dogs, a guinea pig, and a hamster.
