When your pet comes to us for a checkup or a sick visit, our in-house diagnostic tools can give us a much clearer picture of your pet’s overall health. Timely, accurate diagnostics are critical for cats and dogs because our pets are experts when it comes to hiding their discomfort, which makes it challenging to detect illnesses early on through casual observation. Plus, many diseases affecting our pets can escalate quickly if left untreated.
At West Oaks Animal Hospital, the following diagnostic tools can help us spot underlying conditions and pinpoint the cause of any symptoms your pet might be displaying:
We use our in-house laboratory to analyze your pet’s blood, urine, and fecal samples so we can spot issues affecting your pet’s organs and major systems of the body.
Our digital x-ray machines give us clear, high-definition images that can help us spot and diagnose broken bones, tumors, and foreign objects as well as issues related to the heart, digestion, reproductive, and urinary systems.
Ultrasound can provide a wealth of information and is more cost-effective and more readily available for pets than MRI. Ultrasound is noninvasive, involves no radiation, and is highly effective for locating ingested objects, spotting tumors, and evaluating pregnancies. It can also be used when fine-needle aspirates (biopsies or to obtain urine from the bladder) are necessary. Ultrasounds can also distinguish fluid from soft tissues, making ultrasound a powerful diagnostic tool.
We are proud to offer our clients the benefits of advanced diagnostic services. Please feel free to call us if you have any questions at all about our diagnostic capabilities.
